Las alumnas Natalia Gutiérrez y Sofia Ruibal entrevistan a las alumnas del Máster de Secundaria, futuras profesores de inglés, en el IES Laurel de la Reina La alumna del Máster de Secundaria entrevistada fue Lucía Nieves García:

Where are you from?

I'm from Seville, I'm spanish.

Where have you studied?

I've studied here in Granada. I did a translation interpreton, I finished in 2014 when I went two Paris for two years.

Why did you decide to study translation?

Because I love languages and comunication. I wanted to learn more languages and more about how comunication works.

What experience have you had in this highschool?

I'm having a wonderful experience, which hasn't finished yet. Will be here until the end of next week. Actually I was very surprised with the kind of establishment in which we ended up. Because I think they have a very open way of seeing things, they are very openminded, they try their best to keep close to students and to have a good relationship with them, not only like a teacher-student relationship. That's something I strongly appreciate.

Did you expect it to be like this?

No, not at all (risa). The last two years in Paris I was working as a practice teacher and the behaviour of french students has nothing to do with the behaviour that students have here. There they were like very hectic and a bit too much unresponsable sometimes.

Any jobs you've had before coming here?

Well mostly I've been helping people out in personal courses and also my experience in Paris, but that wasn't a teaching english experience, that was teaching spanish. I was working with different languages.

So you've said you've been in Paris, have you lived in anyother countries?

Yes, in England, for about three years.

What do you think about the spanish educational system compared to Paris and England?

It's got good points and bad points. I really appreciate the spanish system because teachers are very well trained and there is a huge formation behind them. Maybe it's the academical structure that doesn't allow them to do things differently but if I had to highlight something in the spanish system is that we are not as rigid as in England or as in Paris, the relationship between the teacher and the students is closer here, it's not like a fearful relationship, I would say that in England sometimes it's almost like a fearful relationship, you have to be super polite and there is a huge barrier. I like that here we can jump the barrier.
